Two Years Later
2021

"Two Years Later" captures a moment frozen in time—an image I took of Leicester Square during a memorable family trip. The painting focuses on the architectural angles, the mirror reflections across the buildings, and the vibrant lights of the cinema, all set against the blur of people moving through the scene. Though it may not be my favorite piece, it marks a significant milestone in my journey. Painted two years after the original photograph, it reflects my personal and artistic growth. Despite years of yearning for the city, this painting is a tangible reminder of how far I’ve come, both as an artist and as a person. It was my first attempt at mixing colors from scratch and trying to capture movement and light, techniques that have since become integral to my work. The piece serves as a quiet nod to progress and change, both in the city and within myself.
