Swimming In Your Brain
2023

"Swimming In Your Brain" revisits the motif of jellyfish but breaks away from the expected blues, embracing a vivid, almost surreal palette. The jellyfish themselves are rendered in purples, creating a striking contrast that feels like an inverted photograph—a trippy, unconventional perspective. This piece was an experiment in color mixing, with pink continuing as a frequent choice in my work for its vibrancy and emotional depth. I found jellyfish fascinating to paint during this period because of their fluidity; their forms are forgiving of errors, effortlessly adapting to their surroundings. The result is a piece that feels random and free yet deeply personal, reflecting the meditative process of painting these ethereal creatures and the joy of exploring bold, unexpected colors.
