"People Pleaser" began as a companion piece to It Felt Soft, created under the weight of expectation after receiving so much positive feedback on its counterpart. I felt the pressure to replicate that success, but the more I shared my work, the more restrained and uncertain I became. The piece stalled, left unfinished for months, with only a soft background of blue, green, and white clouds. Eventually, I realized that the simplicity of it was enough, and I didn’t need to push the piece to meet external expectations. Accepting it as it was became a quiet rebellion—a reminder to create for myself, not for others. People Pleaser embodies that shift in perspective, a lesson in letting go of external validation and finding contentment in the unpolished, the incomplete, and the authentic.
